MIL-STD-1322B(NAVY)
FOREWORD
1. This standard is approved for use by the Department of the Navy and is available for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
2. This standard describes procedures and practices applicable to the construction of unit loads of ammunition, explosives, and associated items for domestic and overseas shipping, handling, and storage. This standard is not applicable to the construction of unit loads destined for underway replenishment (transfer-at-sea), amphibious operations, or unitized stowage aboard combatant ships. These procedures are covered by
MIL-STD-1323.
3. Physical dimensions, envelope shape, density, weight, and type of items to be unitized and palletized vary greatly, making it difficult to address all possible configurations in one document. Therefore, the MIL-STD general document addresses the general requirements (design requirement, material, general palletizing principles, marking, inspection, and test requirements). The MIL-STD dash numbered sheets provide specific approved instructions on constructing a unit load for a given item.
4. Comments, suggestions, or questions on this document should be addressed to Commander, Naval Sea
Systems Command, ATTN: SEA 05S, 1333 Isaac Hull Avenue, SE, Stop 5160, Washington Navy Yard DC
20376-5160 or emailed to CommandStandards@navy.mil, with the subject line "Document Comment". Since contact information can change, you may want to verify the currency of this address information using the ASSIST Online database at https://assist.dla.mil.
